2008 AMERICAN BALLET COMPETITIION
JUNE 6-8
he American Ballet Competition, presented by the Institute for Dance Education Arts, Inc, awards scholarships and company traineeships to some of the most prestigious dance schools in the United States and abroad along with cash prizes. The Competition was founded in 2004 by highly regarded dance professionals Katherine C. Kersten and Kee Juan Han to create unique educational and professional opportunities and exposure for talented young dancers.
Hosted by New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida, the 2008 Competition will be held June 6-8 and is open to students of all nationalities between the ages of 10-20 years old.
The American Ballet Competition exposes contestants to international guest teachers through master classes, coaching sessions and unmatched opportunities to be viewed by professional dance directors from throughout the world. Performance opportunities, such as with the International Dance Festival of Maimi, have been offered to ABC winners.
The American Ballet Competition offers competitors the added dimension of an opportunity to study with and be coached by outstanding international dance artists, directors and educators. The Competition is conducted in a nurturing, positive and organized atmosphere that promotes not only the artistic and technical growth of all participants but affords valuable insights and reality checks that address their professional expectations.
