2005 American Ballet Competition Final Awards
The 2005 American Ballet Competition held in Miami, Florida, June 10, 11 and 12. Contestants competed in three divisions: Division I (Juniors ages 11 & 12); Division II (Seniors Ages 13-15); and Division III (Pre-professionals, ages 16-19).
The Competition, in its second year, was hosted by the New World School of the Arts and drew competitors from throughout the United States and South America including Texas, Virginia, North Carolina, Utah, Maine, Pennsylvania, Florida, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
The winning awards went to:
Division III | Pre-Professionals
1st Place Award: KALEENA BURKS, 17
The Art of Classical Ballet, Pompano Beach, Florida.
Ms. Burks received a cash award of $500 and a Traineeship with Cincinnati Ballet for their 2005-2006 season.
2nd Place Award: ANNA ILINSKAYA, 19
New World School of the Arts in Miami, Florida.
Ms. Ilinskaya received a cash award of $300 and a scholarship to Austin Ballet Academy’s Summer Intensive (2005 or 2006).
3rd Place Award: CAITLIN SCHAUB, 17
CES Performing Arts Magnet School in Pelham, New Hampshire.
Ms. Schaub received a cash award of $200 and a scholarship to the Cincinnati Ballet Otto M. Budig Academy’s Summer Intensive (2005 or 2006).
Encouragement Award: DAVID NAVA, 13
McAllen Dance Studio, McAllen, TX.
Scholarships to Interlochen Arts Academy (2005-06 Fall/Spring) and Atlanta Ballet Center for Dance Education’s Summer Intensive (2005 or 2006).

Ms. Orillac received a cash award of $100 and a scholarship to Interlochen Arts Camp (2005).
3rd Place Award: JULIANA RICHARDS, 11
America’s Ballet School, Tampa, FL.
Ms. Richards received a cash award of $50.
